Birmingham, Alabama
"Transparency, honesty, kindness, good stewardship, even humor, work in businesses at all times." John Gerzema
A Birmingham native, graduate of Auburn University and University of Alabama School of Law, Kelley H. White, ISA Member, JD is the Owner of KW Estate Sales, LLC. The granddaughter of an antiques dealer and local artist, Kelley grew up in the business. She spent many summers, after school afternoons and Saturdays immersed in her grandmother’s antiques shop, art studio or on the road to an auction or estate sale. Kelley had planned to join her grandmother in the business upon college graduation, but after losing her grandmother and mentor far too soon (just upon college graduation) Kelley soon headed to law school. Finally in 2016, she was able to launch her own estate liquidation business with an eye toward delivering an extensive and high quality menu of services to the Birmingham area. That important early immersion experience in the business, her training and experience as a lawyer (which helped her become an analytical thinker, while her natural bent is toward creative thinking) as well as her education as an appraiser of personal property, collectively allow her to deliver an exceptionally high level of service in her estate liquidation business. She is also a naturally curious person who learns something new each time she evaluates a personal property collection. She always says that what you should hear from an honest person in this business is that they know enough to know what they do not know! She and her team have developed a solid reputation in Birmingham and beyond, in the auction market, of investing a great deal of time and expense in evaluating personal property collections and strategically planning and advising clients what markets to liquidate the property which has brought high returns for clients over the years. (See Broker’s Portfolio).
When asked what she considers the highest compliment she has received from a client over the years, her response is “On more than a few occasions, a client has told me that their loved one would have been proud or pleased with how the estate was handled. Often we are working with people who have suffered the great loss of a spouse or parent. Naturally, the client feels overwhelmed on many fronts and a lot of pressure to a be good steward to their loved one in handling the estate. When we can provided them that peace of mind that their loved one would have been proud or pleased with how the estate was handled, then I consider our job well done.”
